A 5x3.5" vintage RPPC photo postcard from the estate of a vintage automobile postcard collector. This was part of a huge collection of antique postcards. Photo Overview This real photo postcard captures a wonderful slice of early American farm life: a family poses proudly with their brass-era Ford Model T touring car in front of a large newly built gambrel-style barn crowned with twin cupolas and a weathervane. A farmer in work clothes and a hat stands with one hand resting on the car's folded top frame, while a young girl in a dress stands beside the open touring car. High above them, a painter perches on a tall wooden ladder with his bucket, putting the finishing coat on the fresh board-and-batten siding. The automobile is an early Ford Model T touring car, identifiable by its distinctive wood-spoke wheels, angled windshield, folding canvas top, and side-mounted acetylene-style lamps - the car that put rural America on wheels.
