Minor age wear and pinpoint glaze pitting typical of older hand-fired porcelain. This is an authentic Japanese Kutani hand-painted porcelain plate dating to the late Meiji-early Taishō period, circa 1890-1930. The plate is beautifully decorated in classic Kutani enamel work featuring: Deep iron-red cloud scrolls along the rim A soft blue mountain wash in the background A striped vase of red florals with raised enamel Two bright butterflies in red and yellow A traditional red geometric fence motif A hand-brushed artist seal in red on the reverse All decoration is fully hand-painted with individual brushstrokes visible throughout.
