This was made in the Erzgebirge mountain region of the German Democratic Republic (GDR)— one of the most revered folk art traditions in the world. Vintage Wendt Kuhn Marguerite Angel pulling Christmas sled, Erzgebirge Germany A Precious Hand Painted Wooden Miniature Marguerite Angel Figurine in a white robe with the iconic marguerite flower crown and painted wings. She’s pulling a wooden sled loaded with a candle trimmed Christmas Tree, a Bunny Rabbit Toy, 2 Apples, 2 Tiny Toy Houses. It measures 2 7/8" tall. Base is approximately 4" long. Original Erzgebirge GDR sticker intact on base, it reads "Erzgebirge made in German Democratic republic". This dates the piece from  1972-1987. This miniature figure comes with the original decorative box!  The original GDR-era box is stamped, "Made in German Democratic Republic" with the numbers 0739.Dimensions approx. 3.5" L x 2.25" H. A complete, displayable piece of East German Volkskunst history — quite rare to find with original box. Marguerite Angels from Wendt & Kühn Each have the iconic Crown of Marguerites in their hair. They are irresistibly charming in their delicate sweetness. They are miniature and so are all the exquisite details and tiny little treasures they cary - from the tiny apple to the candles on the tree.  This was made in the Erzgebirge mountain region of the German Democratic Republic (GDR)— one of the most revered folk art traditions in the world.  Condition: Very good vintage condition for 50 year old pieces — light wear consistent with age.
