This is a really pretty fine bone china teacup and saucer set made by Crown Staffordshire of Stoke-on-Trent England. The cup holds 3/4 of a cup. The set weighs 9.5 ounces. Maybe a bit of rub wear to the gold I only noticed under a bright light. This is a really pretty fine bone china teacup and saucer set made by Crown Staffordshire of Stoke-on-Trent England. The cup has a lovely English teacup shape with a fancy loop handle.It is decorated with pink roses and smaller flowers in several colors like purple and blue, and the edges are trimmed with shiny gold. Crown Staffordshire was a china manufacturer at a factory named Minerva Works in Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent England. The Green family had been making pottery there since 1833, and in 1889 still under the control of Green brothers, the company renamed itself Crown Staffordshire Porcelain Co, which was in business until 1985, eventually under the name Crown Staffordshire China Company. The backstamp on this set, was the standard mark with the words “Fine Bone China” and was used from 1930 onwards, according to the potteries.org. Not sure when this set was made though, since that backstamp was used for several decades. The cup holds 3/4 of a cup. It is 2 & 1/2 inches tall, 3 & 1/2 inches in diameter,and the saucer is 5 & 5/8 inches in diameter. The set weighs 9.5 ounces. This set is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. Maybe a bit of rub wear to the gold I only noticed under a bright light. Looking at an angle to the light at the saucer there are a few very faint marks in the glaze.
