Mold 152 is a character-baby mold with a distinctly modeled, cheerful infant face. The “7” in the marking denotes the doll’s size. The wig is old and, based on its age and condition, is most likely original to the doll. 16" Antique Hertel & Schwab 152-7 German Bisque Character Baby Doll, Fixed Eyes The doll’s eyes are fixed. They appear to have originally been sleep eyes that stopped working and were later secured in place. For that reason, I did not remove the head cap. The wig is old and, based on its age and condition, is most likely original to the doll. The bisque head is free of chips, cracks, hairlines, and repairs. The right foot is missing its big toe. The fingers on both hands are intact. The original red paint, including the painted nail detail, remains on the fingers and toes. The composition body has wear, with especially noticeable paint loss and rubbing on the back of the body and the backs of the arms. Other than the missing toe and the wear described above, I do not see any serious chips or cracks. She is dressed in a short dress or chemise, a one-piece combination undergarment, bonnet, socks, and shoes. Please see all photos for condition and details.
