The vase is beautifully decorated with blooming purple, coral, and blue irises rising among long green leaves. The wooden stand may exhibit minor natural wear from age and use. An exceptional antique Japanese ginbari cloisonné vase, dating to approximately the late Meiji period, circa early 20th century. The vase is beautifully decorated with blooming purple, coral, and blue irises rising among long green leaves. The floral decoration extends naturally around the body, while much of the reverse remains open, allowing the luminous pale-green silver-foil ground to become an important part of the design. The translucent enamels reveal the intricate textured foil beneath, producing the shimmering, reflective appearance characteristic of quality ginbari work. Particularly impressive is the remarkably fine and consistent treatment of the foil ground across the body and neck. The elegant elongated form, flared mouth, refined coloring, and excellent preservation make this a superior decorative example. A fitted carved wooden display stand is included, creating a complete and attractive presentation.
