Beautiful antique hand-beaded drawstring purse dating to the Art Deco era, circa late 1920s to early 1930s. The original beaded fringe is largely intact, and the beadwork remains vibrant and displays beautifully. This striking purse features thousands of cobalt blue glass seed beads with colorful floral motifs, geometric Art Deco styling, and a black silk interior. The original beaded fringe is largely intact, and the beadwork remains vibrant and displays beautifully. The twisted drawstring cords have pulled loose from the beadwork on both sides (shown clearly in the photos). The purse is complete and displays very well, and the separation appears to be repairable by someone experienced with antique textiles or beadwork. There is also expected light wear to the interior silk lining consistent with age. Whether displayed as-is or carefully restored, this is a wonderful example of an authentic Art Deco beaded handbag and would make an excellent addition to any collection of antique purses or vintage fashion accessories.
