The Stanley logo blade, is nearly full length, it is straight and has been freshly sharpened with correct 25 degree bevel. The premium Brazilian Rosewood handles are original and beautiful, the rear tote has a well done repair about midway. Vintage, and excellent condition Stanley Bailey No 6 wide and heavy Fore plane. It is approx 18 inches long with a blade width of 2-3/8 inches. It has the features of a type 16, manufactured between 1933 to 1941 or about 90 years ago. This plane will last another long lifetime with normal maintenance. Metal bed and all other metal parts are fine, no cracks breaks, or repairs. I placed a straight edge along the sole and it appears perfectly straight, no warping, see photo. The premium Brazilian Rosewood handles are original and beautiful, the rear tote has a well done repair about midway. The front knob is fine, no cracks, splits or breaks. The Stanley logo blade, is nearly full length, it is straight and has been freshly sharpened with correct 25 degree bevel. The black Japanned finish is good more than 80 percent. My goal is to place as many of these high quality made in the USA vintage hand tools back into the hands of today’s craftsmen. I would never “part out” a good tool just for the proceeds. If the tool I have acquired is serviceable I will put it into as good of condition it can be and sell to friends or on eBay.
