The locking front end fastens via an interlocking knuckle joint that is held securely closed by a brass pull-pin topped with a flat circular cap. Carved Bovine Cow Bone w Brass Bangle Folk Art Bracelet Hinged Clamper Pin Clasp  This unique and interesting carved bovine bone and brass bracelet is preowned and is in good condition for the right person. This bangle bracelet features a hinged clamper design and displays an example of 1970s ethnic revival craftsmanship. This piece has bench made metalworks with textured design along with carved cow bone that has been hand detailed with gold leaf style. The design is quite simple with hand-shaved panels of genuine bovine (cow) bone inlaid onto a brass frame with slim bands of textured brass.  The bone segments are individually detailed with hand-carved leaf motifs and accented with an intentional dark antiqued paint wash to bring out the rich, rustic depth of the botanical pattern. The natural organic grain and subtle striations of the bone are beautifully showcased alongside vertical geometric brass separator bands.  This piece features a traditional mechanical construction, split into two symmetrical halves connected securely by a heavy-duty vertical hinge on one side. The locking front end fastens via an interlocking knuckle joint that is held securely closed by a brass pull-pin topped with a flat circular cap .  The structural rear hinge operates smoothly, and the two halves align perfectly flush when closed. The removable locking pin fits snugly into the clasp assembly. The carved bone panels display their authentic natural striations and are fully intact without cracks or loose edges.   The bracelet measures approximately 7 & 1/4" when measured on a bracelet mandrel. The measurement across the center of the bracelet is 2 & 1/4" across. The bracelet is 7/8" wide at the outside. The bracelet is not hallmarked and most likely came from India (it looks like a traditional Indian style item). There is a residual sticker mark inside and that is one sign that it was imported. Conditional issues are surface scratching, the pin is bent but it looks original to the bench made metal works, some discolorations, spots, marks, old sticker discoloration, blemishes on the inner length along with signs of use and wear. This bracelet is vintage from the 1970s, possibly a tad bit later. This bracelet is best for a person who truly loves vintage jewelry items which may have flaws and imperfections but have a lot of character, history and a bit of mystery too.
