The bowl has a gentle boat shape and slight lobed shape.   I am pleased to offer this antique solid sterling silver swing handle basket / centerpiece made in 1898, Birmingham, England during the Victorian time.   Most likely a sugar or sweets / candy basket but also be used for flowers.    This basket is in good condition with a couple of minor dings as would be expected for it's age and use.  The bowl has a gentle boat shape and slight lobed shape.   Free of monograms or removals it is not weighted.  Weighs approximately 134.4 grams ( 4.7 oz).  It is in solid condition with the handle positioning where placed.  The hinges in good working condition.   The large set of hallmarks on the side are clear and crisp.   Measures approximately 5 1/8" from end to end x 3 1/2" wide and 6" tall with the handle up.    S.  Category: Antiques › Silver › Sterling Silver (.925) › Bowls.
