Acknowledged artist Fritz (Friedrich Karl) Stockmayer (1877 – 1940) designed this vase. He designed for several porcelain makers in Selb. He worked for Rosenthal in 1932 – 1940 and was artistic leader from 1935. His artwork was influenced by Asian designs. Vase on this auction has a very scaled footed kidney shape. This is Rosenthal form number 2532. It is decorated with embossed design of tan and gold tree branches and leaves, blooming pink Chinese vine or Magnolia flowers and sparkling red berries all over the body. Vase has off white background with a little gray flavor. It has a delicate tan rim. It is fully glazed. Looks splendid. Vase is marked on the backside with standard ‘Rosenthale Germany Kunst Abteilung’ mark in green. This mark identifies original production of 1935 . Other marking is printed ‘Handgemalt’ (hand painted) and production painter initials 'HS'. Vase measures about 6 1/4” x 4” and stands 5” tall. Condition is immaculate with no cracks or chips found. Colors are bright and vibrant. Gold has no wear. This porcelain is thick and heavy. Vase displays very well. Please take a look at the pictures to find out more about this piece of the art.
