Nice antique carved wooden dowry casket with feet. The dimensions as it stands is around 16x14x8 inches. Mughal Empire area, 1800s, this is made with wood, some metal bands that have some corrosion, some primitive nails, and I think some of the metal might be brass but the patina has browned them. Various metal straps in spots to hold the wood on the box together, also a few small metal plates in spots, either as old repair or originally there, I'm not sure, but they blend in with the rest because all that old color is everywhere. There is some damage on the feet, plus it looks like some wood is missing underneath where a bar would have been across the center to help hold the bottom up so it wouldn't fall out with all that weight of gold in there. I'll put a lot of pictures on it for you. The greenish light on the inside is a reflection from the lantern in there. We will pay for shipping on this into the United States.
