Larger oval handled dish – deep well with two substantial cast handles, the workhorse piece of the group for casseroles or larger side dishes. Up for sale is a nice mixed lot of vintage silver plated serveware, five pieces in total, well suited to a collector, a restaurant/prop buyer, or anyone looking to build out a set for entertaining. These have clearly seen real use in a dining room, they are in as found condition and show the warm, honest patina you'd expect from silver plate that's a few decades old.   Every piece will clean up beautifully with a standard silver polish. What's included: Oval covered entrée/vegetable dish – domed lid with a shell-form finial handle, gadrooned rim, sits on a matching oval base. Classic footed-server silhouette, great for potatoes, rolls, or veg at the table. Sugar caster / muffineer – pierced dome top on a baluster-form body with a stepped round foot. The kind of piece that looks equally at home holding sugar or powdered spices. Long oval serving tray – wide, gently upswept sides, generous flat well. Ideal for a bread tray, hors d'oeuvres, or as a catch-all serving platter. Small handled bowl – footed with a beaded rim and a single ring handle, nice compact size for sauces, nuts, or condiments. Larger oval handled dish – deep well with two substantial cast handles, the workhorse piece of the group for casseroles or larger side dishes. Several of the dishes have an engraved monogrammed "H" or "HE" in old English. Condition: All five pieces show genuine age and use — surface tarnishing throughout (as pictured), light scratching consistent with age, and some scattered surface spotting/oxidation on a couple of the pieces. No dents or damage that I can see, and no losses to the plating that would keep these from being usable or polishable. I have not attempted to polish these myself so you can see exactly what you're getting — a good silver polish and some elbow grease will bring these back to a nice shine. None of the pieces are marked as sterling; based on weight, construction, and wear pattern these read as silver plate over a base metal, typical of early 20th-century American or European hotel/tableware silver. Sold as a lot of 5 — please review all photos closely, as they're part of the description. Smoke-free home.
