The inlay is comprised of semi-precious stones. The grapes appear to be lapis lazuli and the stem brown jasper. The leaves as well as the box's trim and feet appear to be malachite. ·       Here we have a gorgeous vintage lapis lazuli, malachite, and jasper inlaid decorative alabaster box with grape motif. This particular style, featuring a grape motif, was popular in decorative arts in the late 20 th century. ·       Features: This box features the Italian Pietra Dura style of inlay. The inlay is comprised of semi-precious stones. The grapes appear to be lapis lazuli and the stem brown jasper. The leaves as well as the box's trim and feet appear to be malachite. Most likely this piece was hand-crafted in Italy or another region known for stone inlay work. ·       Size: This box measures approximately 4½” side-to-side, 2 7/8” front-to-back, and 1½” high. Condition: This piece is in excellent vintage condition… no visible signs of damage. The inlay pieces are tight and the hinges secure. There are no repairs and there is no fading.
