This item is a set of 6 pieces, 5 matching hand porcelain Nut dishes, candy, appetizers and one long tray. They all marked Chikaramachi –Japan They are hand painted and done in the Lusterware form Circa 1920- 1940's see note on the bottom**** Pattern CHK19- Blue Band, House on Lake This narrow, oval dish is known as a Celery Dish, it a perfect serving dish for any vegetable or fruit. This set comes with 5 matching nut salt cellars Dimensions: Celery dish – 12 1/4" long x 5 1/4" wide x 1 1/2" high. Salts - 3 1/4" long x 2 1/8" wide. This set is in GREAT VINTAGE CONDITION- NO CHIPS OR CRACKS - condition with no obvious wear. Please zoom on pictures for more details NOTE : The crown and wreath mark was used by the Noritake factory on Chikaramachi Street in Nagoya, Japan. In 1876 Baron Ichizaemon Morimura and his brother founded Morimura Bros., a trading company, in Tokyo. In 1904 Morimura established a porcelain manufacturing company, Nippon Toki Gomei Kaisha, in Noritake, Japan. The company began exporting porcelain dinnerware in 1914. "Made in Japan" was used as part of the mark about 1908. The Chikaramachi crown mark was registered in 1928 and was used for several years. It's not known when they stopped using the Chikaramachi back marks, but all production, along with U.S. exports, ceased in 1942.
