Surrounding all are bevel cut arches and grids, with a cross-like grid in the center of bowl. There are very interesting finely cut linear Xs throughout the bowl where there are open areas. as age appropriate.   EARLY Antique ABP American Brilliant Period STAR/Xs Hand Cut CRYSTAL BOWL Heavy Size Approx. 8"wide x 3.75" high Crystal is almost 1/2" thick!  * Please see my Store under Vintage Glassware for three other wonderful ABP bowls [different patterns]   Heavy 3 pounds & 10.5 ounces due to the large lead content in the crystal, a feature of the OLD cut crystal American pieces Genuine circa mid 1800s- this is an EARLIER stone cut piece with very unusual patterning and crisp lines  Quality of the cutwork on this piece is EXCEPTIONAL  Completely hand blown, hand cut crystal with bedazzling cuts that shine like rainbows with light reflecting off them Features 4 stunning concave large rounded stars around base with 4 smaller geometric stars in between them. Surrounding all are bevel cut arches and grids, with a cross-like grid in the center of bowl. There are very interesting finely cut linear Xs throughout the bowl where there are open areas.  Rim is sawtoothed and scalloped     This piece looks magnificent from any angle and must have been cut by an extremely skilled artisan  Very heavy thick crystal, and well balanced Would be gorgeous displayed on a tabletop, or used as a very elegant jewelry, keys, or change dish. Would also be terrific as an over-the-top luxurious snack bowl, etc  Very good condition- some extremely small [very miniscule] mites along sawtooth rim and one smooth flake off of the UNDERSIDE along one of the ribs of a star- extremely difficult to see or notice, see last pic. as age appropriate. Rim is sawtooth scalloped which makes the chips very difficult to notice. Not sharp or rough. See last pics. use zoom. NO other damage, does have minor shelf wear on underside from sitting on a table for almost 150 years    Elegant and unique.   This is GREAT piece for a collector.
