The back stamp is clearly visible, as is the impressed number 100. The platter is roughly from the 1890's per the stamp information. It is in amazing condition for being over 126 years old. There is one, very old, chip on the underside of the platter edge. It is shown in my pictures. There are no other chips or cracks. Please see all my pictures and feel free to ask for more if you'd like. There are gold accents in the blue but they are hard to see and worn away in places. The antique ceramic backstamp on the platter is from W.H. Grindley & Co., an English pottery maker in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, founded in 1880. Details Maker: W.H. Grindley & Co. (England) Pattern: Argyle (introduced around 1896) Registration Number: Rd. No. 269457, which corresponds to Grindley's patent/registration year of 1896. Style: Flow blue transferware, a popular late-Victorian technique where the cobalt blue intentionally bleeds into the white glaze for a hazy effect. Item will be packaged very carefully.
