Very pretty little pressed wheel/flower where the handle joins the body of the basket.   Vintage 1940s Westmoreland PURPLE SATIN ART GLASS BRIDES BASKET Crimped Rim  ROSES ON TRELLIS pattern  VERY RARE to find one of these larger baskets, especially in purple. Size 7.5" high, 8.25" long x 7" wide. Round base is 2 5/8" diameter.  Genuine Mid Century 1940s Satin glass with a fantastic and rich 'grape purple/amethyst' coloration on basket and handle. Gorgeous, catches light beautifully. Very pretty little pressed wheel/flower where the handle joins the body of the basket Features embossed roses and trellises going around entire basket... with the largest part of the pattern being on the front and back facing sides Traditionally used in the 1940s to walk down the aisle with, carrying a bridal bouquet  Very heavy and well balanced Excellent condition-NO damage, no chips scratches or flaws- gorgeous. See all pics and use zoom. No dullness or repair. There is a clear bit of sellotape on the underside of base which can easily be removed [see last pic] This is GREAT piece for a collector. Can be used for candy, flowers, nuts, trinkets, etc etc or left as is with the light shining through it for a stunning effect.
