I am gradually selling my salt cellar and individual nut dish collection that at one time was over 1,800 pieces.   This had been in my collection since the 1980s.   It is unsigned, but from the shape and the style of the decoration obviously Nippon. I see nothing this same shape in the book 5,000 Open Salts: A Collector’s Guide by William Heacock and Patricia Johnson.   This always leads me to the conclusion that this must be a difficult shape to find. AGE AND CONDITION: Circa 1915.   It is in very good to excellent original condition.   Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my description of this item.   There are no chips, flea bites, scratches, repairs, cracks or hairlines to the porcelain.   I see only some minor wear to the gold trim – see my photos.   Please keep in mind the photos may be blown up at least 8-10 times normal, so anything you see will look 8-10 times larger in the photos than it really is. Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece.   It will be either just to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on the right side of the photo. APPROXIMATE DIMENSIONS : It is about 3.25” (8.3 cm) by about 3” (7.6 cm) and sits about .75” (1.9 cm) off the table.
