Handsome, heavy-duty, antique door hinges made by, "Stanley" of New Britain, CT. They were made sometime during the first quarter of the previous century. We are including 16 old, flathead screws to install the hinges. Each hinge has a ball tip on each end. One finial screws on/off and the other is connected to the pin which holds the 2 halves of the hinge together and simply slides out when you pull it. You could see the manufacturer's stamp in the upper, inner corner, next to the top knuckle on the front side. The hinges are solid, forged steel plated with brass. You could tell that these hinges were well-maintained or not used too often because almost all of the brass is intact and is fairly clean (minimal patina/tarnish). If you prefer a newer, cleaner look, apply some "Brasso" and scrub the surface of the hinges using #00 or #0000 grade steel wool to polish them up to a brilliant shine. Unlike the hinges made today, which you could buy at your local hardware store; these hinges are thicker, heavier, and stronger. They are made of pure, solid, forged brass and were built to last indefinitely. If you are planning on using these hinges to hang a new door, it's a very good chance that you'll end up replacing the door before the hinges!
