Beautiful antique dimensional Valentine card, Printed in Germany , dating to approximately the 1910s–1920s. This elaborate stand-up Valentine features two charming children surrounded by colorful blue forget-me-nots, pink flowers and roses. One child carries a large basket of flowers while the other holds a stack of Valentine letters. The scene is constructed from multiple layers of intricately die-cut and lithographed paper, creating a wonderful three-dimensional effect. The card opens into a freestanding display with paper/cardboard supports between the layers. At the base are dimensional red tissue/honeycomb paper flowers, adding even more depth to the design. Measures approximately 6 1/4" tall x 3 7/8" wide when viewed from the front. Overall very nice antique condition considering its age, with expected light age toning, minor edge wear and handling wear. There appears to possibly be a missing decorative or sentiment element from the center area behind the children. The remaining structure is intact and displays beautifully.
