Vintage Mid Century Modern Clear Lucite Acrylic Magazine Rack / Stand / Caddy with Holder.  This Lucite magazine rack / holder has cut design in the Lucite much like cut crystal in glass while still maintaining its sleek modern design.  In 1971, Plastics Production Company was purchased by SiLite, Inc, a high-end homewares manufacturing company in Chicago. In the late 1970s, the Grainware brand, produced by SiLIte, Inc., modified its production process from vacuum forming of acrylic sheets to injection molding of acrylic resins. This was facilitated by Jolly Tone Enterprise, a boutique manufacturer of injection-molded crystalline acrylic products in Taiwan. Jolly Tone’s unparalleled technical capability allowed new and intricate designs to be mass-produced, and thus solidified Grainware’s image as a brand of unique, high-end homeware and gifts.
