The crucifix is marked “Germany” on the back. Estate sale find. A very nice example of a Catholic pectoral or pendant crucifix! Beautiful vintage pectoral or pendant crucifix made of silver-toned metal with a black wood inlay. The crucifix measures approximately 5" tall and 2 7/16” across the horizontal beam of the cross. The crucifix features a metal corpus, a small metal Immaculate Heart of Mary on the back, a skull and crossbones near the bottom of the vertical post (symbolizing Christ's victory over death and sin and a reminder of human mortality or “Memento Mori,” Latin for "Remember your mortality”), and a metal hanger at the top. The crucifix is marked “Germany” on the back. The age of the crucifix is unknown but it appears to be vintage and is possibly antique. Estate sale find. A very nice example of a Catholic pectoral or pendant crucifix!  The crucifix appears to be in good used condition with signs of wear and age, such as scratches, scrapes, abrasions, nicks, indentations, oxidation, tarnishing, areas of haziness, and some rust on the nail heads. Some of the imperfections are most noticeable when the crucifix is viewed at certain angles and in certain lighting. It’s possible that some of the imperfections are a result of the manufacturing process.  Please review photos carefully, as they constitute part of the description.
