Please come back often, as we are always buying more goodies to list on ebay.  This listing is for a lovely cherry amber Bakelite, Art Deco necklace, circa 1930s era. The color of the beads isn't the dark variety. The color of this cherry amber Bakelite is somewhere between a dark cherry red and a butterscotch orange. The oval shaped beads are strung in a graduated order, with the smallest beads at the back, measuring about 14 x 9 mm and the largest bead at the center, measuring about 30 x 20 mm. I see Bakelite with this look often listed as Faturan. I'm not sure if this is technically Faturan but it is definitely Bakelite. It's been tested with Simichrome for verification and I got that pink turned yellow result The necklace is 19 inches in length and finished with a box style clasp. It weighs over 51 grams. Exact weight is shown in the photos. The string appears to have been repaired near the clasp, and has also stretched some over the years, which is to be expected. The new owner may wish to restring but the necklace is wearable as is.  The pictures are to be considered as part of the description.
