This is an early in-cannel gouge wood socket chisel, made by T.H. Witherby, or the Harrington, Heald & Co or The Winsted Edge Tool Works. We are not 100% for sure.    The Chisel is stamped WITHERBY .  The chisel is 13 1/4” in overall length, and 8 7/8" long from the blade tip to the end of the socket.     The blade is 3/4" wide.   The chisel is in good condition and has been cleaned, not sure if handle is original or not,.......the blade edge needs a fine honing.... As with the vintage of the chisel, there is some normal wear, a few minor dings, and some discoloration, all as noted from the photos.   The chisel is SOLD AS IS with NO RESERVE . e-mail questions before bidding Condition: Used.
