These are especially striking examples with heavy, dimensional embossing and soft flocked/velvet-textured details that give the designs wonderful depth and texture. The lot includes: * Thanksgiving – Large turkey with grapes, corn, pumpkins and harvest scene; “Thanksgiving Day Greeting” * Valentine – White doves, blue forget-me-not flowers and pink ribbon; “Valentine Greetings” * Easter – Charming child riding a goat and holding flowers; “All Joy to You This Eastertide” * Birthday – Purple floral bouquet with dimensional embossed leaves; “Birthday Greetings” * Best Wishes – Large pink rose with silver-toned foliage and dimensional velvet/flocked flower Several are marked Printed in Germany / Made in Germany on the reverse. One bears a PFB mark, associated with the German postcard publisher Paul Finkenrath of Berlin. These are much more dimensional in person than a standard embossed postcard—the flowers, birds, turkey and foliage are deeply raised, with portions having a soft, almost brushed-velvet or flocked finish. Condition: Antique/preowned condition with age-related wear including toning, discoloration, light spotting, corner/edge wear, creasing and writing on some backs. The dimensional fronts remain remarkably attractive with strong color and texture. Please review all photos closely, as they are part of the condition description.
