The Volkstedter pottery is the oldest manufacturer in Thuringia that is still in operation. Her bodice has a ruffled lace collar and her bodice and shoes are a soft rust color. The lace tiers of her skirt are adorned with beautiful roses and flowers. Antique Dresden Aelteste Volkstedter Lace Ballerina Dancer w/Flowers 5 1/2" Tall  A beautiful female figure, in a pretty white lace gown with rows and rows of ruffles. Her bodice has a ruffled lace collar and her bodice and shoes are a soft rust color. The lace tiers of her skirt are adorned with beautiful roses and flowers. The base is gilded. Her face is exquisitely detailed and her brunette hair is adorned with a flower. This piece is in excellent condition, with her long elegant fingers in mint condition. She is is new-old- stock, meaning she has never been owned and is in excellent condition. The is no wear to the gilding. That is very rare for these pieces as the lace is so fragile. I have a very special way of packing these so they arrive in pristine condition. 5 1/2" tall x 3 1/2" wide x 2 3/4" deep The lace used on these figures on cuffs, ruffles and skirts is actually real lace that was soaked in a porcelain slurry. When fired it the kiln, the lace burns off, leaving the porcelain that fused with it intact. The marking on this piece is that of the Aelteste Volkstedter pottery, the particular mark being used post WWII after 1945. The Volkstedter pottery is the oldest manufacturer in Thuringia that is still in operation. The name “Dresden” is used after the fact that most of these lace figurines were made in Dresden, Germany Excellent Condition ~ A few breaks on the backside and a small edge on the front skirt, please zoom in on photos to view detail ~ Her fingers, collar and majority of her skirt are pristine ~ Very rare for such a delicate piece of this age ~ Priced accordingly Condition: Used.
