Not for use by children. After many years of collecting, I'm finally selling off my vintage Afghan-Kuchi tribal-jewelry! This old choker-necklace was handmade during the mid to later 1900's in Central Asia. It has a flexible neckline made with lots of interconnected links, interspersed with large glass-crescents and colorful pom-poms. The crescents are fully intact with some of the seating-wax (used as a jewelry "glue" by the Kuchi) showing around some edges. A triple row of ornate links hangs freely below, with distinctively-Kuchi charms on the ends - creating a bib-necklace effect. The neckline is slender at 14.5 inches, with a button and string-loop closure. It looks like both the button and string-loop have been replaced. They could easily be removed and be replaced with ties instead without hurting the necklace. The cotton lining is also old, so left in place as is. This vintage Kuchi necklace is in great condition, especially considering its age. It's great for belly dance, stage productions, theater costumes and dramatic statements. There is a rich age-patina and mild wear patterns. Note that age-patina reflects the light a lot when photographed, so items appear brighter in images than they really are.
