This quilt was made in the late 1800's using a variety of Civil War Era prints. The quilt has been freshly washed by hand in my bathtub, and dried on the line (no machine washing or tumble drying). This quilt is clean and ready to use, display, or repair. For your consideration is this HISTORIC, light-to-medium weight, handmade antique quilt from my personal collection.  This quilt was made in the late 1800's using a variety of Civil War Era prints.  I originally purchased this quilt from Bolingbrook, Illinois.  This quilt is absolutely charming and would be a wonderful addition to your antique quilt collection.  The front consists of forty-two (42) flower basket blocks, each measuring approximately 8 inches x 7.5 inches.  The sashing is made from a tan print material with hand quilted hearts inside of circles, really sweet!  The binding and the back are a light tan muslin material.  Each flower basket is machine and hand-pieced, and the entire quilt is hand quilted (not machine quilted) using small stitches.     This quilt measures approximately 84" x 70" overall.  The quilt is shown in the photos and video on a pull-out bed measuring approximately 52" wide by 71" long (which is smaller than a full-sized bed which is 54" wide by 75" long).   As you would expect from a quilt this old that has actually been used (not just stored), there are some minor defects including discoloration, stains, small holes in the fabric and fabric thinning in some areas.  I took pictures of most of these defects - each picture has a blue arrow and dime for size reference.  The back has some general discoloration along the edge (see last photo); I expect this discoloration is because that edge of the quilt was at the foot of the bed.  Please look carefully at all of the photos and the video so you can understand the overall condition of the quilt.  My photos are not filtered or enhanced.    Overall, this beautiful quilt is in good condition, considering it is likely over 130 years old!         This quilt has been carefully stored inside a zippered pillowcase in my smoke-free, pet-free basement; I have never used this quilt in my home. The quilt has been freshly washed by hand in my bathtub, and dried on the line (no machine washing or tumble drying).  This quilt is clean and ready to use, display, or repair.     This beautiful quilt will be mailed to you carefully folded, inside of a zippered pillowcase.  The pillow case will be wrapped in white tissue paper, then placed inside of a plastic bag to ensure the quilt stays dry during shipping.  I always place my packaged quilts inside of a large, sturdy shipping box with packing peanuts to ensure your purchase arrives in the best condition possible.        Please feel free to ask questions!    Currently shipping to the USA only, no international orders please.   Condition: Pre-owned.
