The picture measures a DIMINUTIVE total of 8" tall and 5 3/4" wide including it's decorative GILDED FRAME, and the picture itself measures 4 1/4" tall by 3 1/4" wide!  The miniature has mimicked the appearance of an antique gilded wood or gesso frame in material, but is actually made of hard plastic and has a FANCY FRENCH appeal with lots of intricate scroll work!   The picture is actually a transfer on cardboard and features a family portrait of THREE CHILDREN and their dog, and judging by the clothing and type of portrait depicts the style of those typically done in the 1830's-40's.  The portrait has muted sepia tones and has a red border that enhances both the gold color of the frame and the muted tones of the portrait!   Although with an antique and fancy EUROPEAN APPEAL, this little treasure is actually of Asian origin and made in the 1960's, but has a lot of charm and would be a focal point in your antique miniature scene!
