Whoever the silversmith was, he or she had a good eye for design and was capable of skillful execution of the work. Vintage Sterling Silver Navajo Concho Belt with excellent repousse forms and stamp work. The Buckle has nice fluid lines and a very balanced design. It is on the larger size and measures about 3 5/8 by 3 inches. The stamp work and repousse forms are very well done and flow along the periphery very well. No markings at all on this buckle. Whoever the silversmith was, he or she had a good eye for design and was capable of skillful execution of the work. The nine Conchos are oval in shape and are second phase style with a copper loop soldered on the rear of each. They have very traditional patterns of stamping around the scalloped edges and repousse forms originating in the central area that radiate part of the way outward toward the edge. The conchos each measure about 3 1/8 by 2 3/4 inches. The black Leather Belt is in excellent overall vintage used condition. The total length from the buckle to the leather tip is about 60 inches, with holes currently punched at about 36 to 41 inches. There is space to add more holes in either direction if needed. This is a well thought out design and well executed Navajo concho belt with the total weight being heavy with silver, weighing approximately 564 grams or about 18.1 troy ounces.
