Weighing an impressive 487.6 grams , the belt measures approximately 32 inches overall and fits approximately a 28–30 inch waist . Large oval conchos alternate with coordinating butterfly-form conchos on a reddish-brown leather belt. The large oval conchos measure approximately 3.5 inches by 3 inches and feature dramatically domed central radial floral or sunburst repoussé motifs . These raised centers are surrounded by darkened recessed bands, finely worked borders, repeated hand stamping and scalloped edges.  The coordinating butterfly conchos measure approximately 2.5 inches by 2 inches and continue the same decorative vocabulary with raised repoussé elements, curved bands, detailed hand stamping and scalloped borders. The approximately 3.5-inch by 3-inch buckle is the focal point of the belt and displays particularly accomplished workmanship. Its solid silver face centers on a deeply formed radial rosette surrounded by four large sweeping repoussé forms . Five elongated raised drops flank each side of the central composition, while curved compound stamping, small fan or sunrise-type impressions, scalloped edging and naturally darkened recesses complete the design. The reverse is equally informative and displays the traditional hand-working involved in its construction. Deep negative impressions correspond to the major repoussé elements visible on the fronts, accompanied by forming, hammering and finishing marks. Narrow copper-colored retainers, apparently copper , secure the individual silver elements to the leather. Third Phase Revival Tradition This belt follows the historic Navajo Third Phase concho-belt tradition , characterized by increasingly elaborate oval conchos, separate butterfly spacers, pronounced domed or repoussé decoration, extensive hand stamping and more highly developed ornamental buckles. Comparable Third Phase-derived Navajo belts documented from the mid-20th century employ many of the same characteristics seen here, including radial repoussé rosettes, scalloped borders, fan or sunrise-type stamping, butterfly conchos, substantial repoussé buckle decoration and copper attachment components.
