ITEM 1: LARGE HOLLOW MAYAN RULER / DEITY WITH HEADDRESS Description: A powerful, hand-modeled coarse terracotta figure depicting a dignified deity or elite ruler sporting an elaborate geometric headdress and prominent circular ear spools. The primary figure holds a smaller, detailed braided effigy or infant. Dimensions: 5.5 inches H x 2.75 inches W Construction & Features: Features a deep, hand-scooped hollow reverse core chamber created by the artisan to prevent exploding in the kiln. Rough horizontal tool scraping marks are clearly visible along the upper interior cavity walls. Surface Condition: The interior walls of the open back cavity feature a dense, thick, concrete-like mineral encrustation and compacted soil matrix chemically bonded to the clay pores.
