Bisque head and composition body and limbs in very good condition, no repairs or cracks. Antique Mignonette Doll - Marked M 5 Height: approximately 17cm (7 inches) A charming small antique mignonette (pocket doll), marked "M 5" to the back of the head, dressed as a little girl in traditional regional/provincial costume. Mignonettes of this type were made in France and in Germany for the French market in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. DESCRIPTION Bisque/porcelain socket head marked "M 5", with fixed glass eyes, delicately painted brows and lashes, open mouth, and a mohair wig. The composition body and limbs are jointed, with moulded painted boots. She wears her charming costume: a checked dress, an apron, a fichu/shawl, and a straw bonnet trimmed with black ribbon.
