I have an early Stanley Rule & Level Co. no6 Low Knob wood plane for sale. This plane has been cleaned up and is in good working condition, it could be cleaned up more. The sole has no dates, the last being Aug 19- 02. I have an early Stanley Rule & Level Co. no6 Low Knob wood plane for sale. This plane has been cleaned up and is in good working condition, it could be cleaned up more. The sole has no dates, the last being Aug 19- 02. The frog has no forward aft adjuster and has a small brass knob that turns correctly. The frog has no lateral lever... an early plane.. The japanning has wear, but looks original, as found condition. This front knob and tote hold well without movement or repairs, I  see a few thin cracks on the base of the front knob (see pics). I think the wood maybe Cocobolo? It has a good earlier keyhole cap that works well. The iron is an early Stanley Rule & Level Co and in good condition for its age. The chipbreaker has a clear L Bailey stamp on top. This plane was 2 small cracks in the mouth and priced lower because of this.   This plane is early, hard to find and collectable. Price is based on era and condition.
